Alf Kempf Named New President Of Okanagan College Foundation

Our own Alf Kempf has been appointed the President of the Okanagan College Foundation.  Alf joined the Board last year sitting as Chair of the Advancement Committee and Vice President prior to becoming President.

Alf actually attended the College in 1974/1975 when the facilities consisted mainly of the trades buildings, cafeteria and some portables.  Other members of his family and many of his friends and acquaintances also attended the College over the years.  Our firm supports the College and helped establish the legal assistant program.  We hire many of our legal assistants out of the program. Alf is excited about the opportunity to give back to the college.

The Foundation raises and administers funds for the benefit of OK College and its students.

Over 20,000 people a year are served by Okanagan College campuses annually either as full time, part time, or continuing education students.  The College helps young, mature, and elderly students acquire knowledge, skills and credentials.  These students in turn employ the knowledge and skills gained to find work, start or improve businesses and help others.

Those many generous donors who support the Foundation are investing in the future of the Okanagan community.  Since its inception in 2002, the Foundation has provided awards to students of over $9,000,000.  The endowment fund is in excess of $7.3 million but we need to do more.  We will shortly be embarking on a new capital campaign to meet our commitments for major expansion of the trades facilities at the Kelowna campus and other priorities.  I  look forward to the challenge and I also look forward to your help and advice.  Please email me at [email protected] to share any ideas that you may have.
