Monthly Lawyer Profile – Brad Cronquist

Why did you become a lawyer?

I was nearing the end of my Bachelor of Commerce days and law seemed to be a natural progression to work in the world of business. It was a great decision.

What is the focus of your law practice?

The two primary areas are business law and real estate law, with a lot of real estate development work. The development work can be really varied from large strata developments, to fractional interests to air space parcels.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what profession would you like to attempt?

I would love to be an endurance athlete. I am nowhere fit enough, but I would like to spend more time training.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what profession would you never do?

I could never be a medical doctor. I go into shock just giving blood.

Your favourite technology tool?

My smart phone. It really keeps me organized.

What is the first thing you check each morning?

I get some breakfast and check out the front page of the paper.

What are people most surprised to learn about you?

I am a pretty straight forward, black and white business guy, but I am a big suck when it comes to my son.

Your biggest extravagance?

That would have to be my bikes and the related paraphanalia.

Your favourite food and drink?

Chocolate milk, especially after a long bike or cross-country ski.

Your favourite motto?

Don’t identify problems, find solutions.
