On June 2, Pushor Mitchell lawyers and staff participated in the YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids. The annual event provides the opportunity for individuals and teams to come together to raise funds the YMCA’s diverse range of youth, adult, and family programs by participating in a fast-paced 45-minute spin-bike challenge lead by thematically-glad cycle instructors. This years themes included Taylor Swift Eras Tour, a country music hoedown, Stanley Cup playoffs, and Barbie movie.
Alongside fundraising with our twelve-person PM team and handing out granola bars and Gatorades for the weary cyclists, Pushor Mitchell supported the event with a $5000 Pedal Power sponsorship to the YMCA.
Beyond the ride itself, the event offered food stalls and a variety of games and entertainment in the “Kid’s Zone”: including bouncy castles, street hockey, face painting, and photo opportunities with the likes of Batman, Captain America, Mr. Incredible, and Baymax (from Big Hero Six).
This year’s event has already seen over $200,000 raised for the charity, with donations still being accepted. To make a donation to the event, head over to the YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids Fundraising page. Donations are open until June 19.
