As new gym memberships get their first scans and optimistic new year budgets are drafted, it is important to take a moment to not only prepare for the challenges of the year to come but to reflect on the accomplishments of the year past.
Entering our 51st year of operations in 2024, Pushor Mitchell strove to provide our clients and community with the high standard of relationship-driven legal excellence that has come to be associated with our firm, while meeting the challenges of the times with innovative solutions.
In reflecting on our 2024, here are a few highlights from the year that championed our firm’s core values of community, striving for excellence, doing the right thing, and putting people first.
In March of 2024, our firm presented a fresh, new face to our clients and community. Our rebrand represented a renewed and revitalized pledge to uphold Pushor Mitchell’s core values for the next 50 years.
Pushor Mitchell has come to be know for our community and charitable involvement in the Okanagan. This past year the firm was involved in over fifty community events and initiatives!
From charity fundraisers and community support to business networking opportunities and educational sessions, our team strove to find the best ways to help our community thrive, while keeping a finger on the pulse of local business and industry developments.
Some event highlights from the year include our lawyers’ participation in the YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids, the impactful stories of perseverance and outreach from Braintrust Canada’s West Coast Brain Injury Conference, the heights of artistic talent showcased at Opera Kelowna’s Opera Under the Stars concert, and the community and entrepreneurial spirit on display at our firm-hosted Kelowna Chamber Commerce ConneX and Downtown Kelowna Downtown After 5.
Pushor Mitchell would like to thank our clients and community for the recognitions we received in 2024. Our firm had the pleasure of being named Top Law Firm in Kelowna by Best of Kelowna 2024, as well as recognition in Best Lawyers Canada® for our work in Corporate Financing.
Beyond our firm’s collective achievements, our lawyers themselves were the recipients of a number of honours from board nominations to professional achievement awards. Here are a few of those honours.
2024 saw partner Bryan Fitzpatrick return as the President of the Greater Westside Board of Trade for 2025.
Pushor Mitchell partner Melodie Lind was recognized for her professional achievements in Corporate Law by Best Lawyer Canada® as one of their 2025 Best Lawyers in Canada®.
Partner Eric Ledding returned to his role as chair of the Professional Issues Committee of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch).
Partner Paul Tonita was the recipient of one of the Kelowna Chamber’s 2024 Top 40 Under 40 recognitions.
Pushor Mitchell associate Mark Brade was named to the Board of Directors for the Central Okanagan Foundation, along with receiving his TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation.
All these achievements would not have been possible without the incredible support of our clients, our community partners, and our wonderful staff.
From our family to yours, we wish you all a joyful and prosperous 2025.
