The lawyers and staff at Pushor Mitchell want to share with you that their colleague Allan Elliott has decided to retire from the practice of law effective June 30, 2014. We wish him well and want to recognize and thank him for his contributions to the firm over the years.
Allan graduated from Kelowna Senior Secondary School in 1973 and from law school at University of British Columbia in 1980. He joined Pushor Mitchell in 1982 and was welcomed into the partnership in 1985. Allan initially practiced with the “hard working, fun loving” staff and lawyers in the Pushor Mitchell Rutland office. Over the past thirty two years, Allan has contributed significantly to the firm’s success and helped it grow into the largest law firm in British Columbia outside the lower mainland.
In his practice, Allan represented hundreds of clients in civil disputes primarily in the area of personal injury, construction disputes and estate disputes and established himself as a truly exceptional and respected counsel.
Allan has been an active member in the community. He has held several leadership positions including President of the Kelowna Rowing Club and President of the Kelowna Gyro Club. He represented the Okanagan as an elected member of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. He was also an enthusiastic, but not necessarily knowledgeable soccer coach for many years.
Allan plans to stay involved in his community and will enjoy more time on his bike, on his skis and seeing the world. “I will miss the lawyers that I have worked with here at Pushor Mitchell and the lawyers that have been my opponents over the years,” says Allan. “ I will miss the people at Pushor Mitchell who have been an extended family all of these years.”
“Allan has been a tremendous Partner and a good friend,” says the Managing Partner at Pushor Mitchell. “While we are sorry to see him go, we are delighted for him and wish him all the best.”
Allan, thank you for everything. We wish you the best with a well-deserved retirement.
