We are pleased to announce that Curtis Darmohray has been elected as the 2014-2015 Kelowna Chamber of Commerce President.
Curtis is a long-time partner at Pushor Mitchell, Lawyers. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Alberta in 1996 and joined Pushor Mitchell shortly thereafter. During the past 17 years, Curtis has developed a busy law practice with a focus on corporate-commercial law, estate planning and administration, and real estate law. In addition to serving on the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Board for the past 4 years, Curtis has also been a past director of the Downtown Kelowna Association and the Kelowna Childcare Society.
As Chamber President, and in conjunction with the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Curtis looks forward to implementing new programs to assist Chamber members with their business needs. This year, the Chamber is proud to be introducing a Young Professional program and a Woman’s Leadership program. Providing professional development opportunities for young professionals and women executives supports quality business development and mentorship activities, and will otherwise enhance the Kelowna business community.
The Chamber also intends to maintain its focus on bringing meaningful value to its members with quality programming and events, cost saving benefits, and business connection opportunities which will help to build and enhance its members’ referral networks.
The Chamber will also continue to work at a grass roots level to provide advocacy services on behalf of its members, which will otherwise evolve into provincial and national resolutions that can change laws that regulate how businesses can better conduct business in the Okanagan. The Chamber’s advocacy efforts reflect the needs of our region, and the Chamber will continue to work with its members and other industry partners to provide a strong voice for Okanagan businesses.
Curtis is passionate about living and working in the Okanagan, and is honoured to serve as the 2014-15 Kelowna Chamber of Commerce President.
