The lawyers and staff at Pushor Mitchell LLP want to share that after 30 years as an invaluable member of the team, their longtime partner, Susan Connaghan has decided to retire from the practice of law effective June 30, 2021. We wish her well and we want to recognize and thank her for many contributions to the firm over the years.
Sue earned her science degree from the University of British Columbia and her law degree from Dalhousie University. She was called to the bar in 1989, and after a couple of years with a large Vancouver firm, she joined our firm in 1991.
In her practice, Sue had a diverse client base and dealt with all areas of business law, real estate law and estate planning. She assisted her clients with the full range of business advisory services as well as all aspects of estate plans, from conception and implementation to the eventual administration. She also led teams of lawyers and staff on large institutional projects. Her sage advice was highly valued by her many clients, large and small.
Sue became a partner in 1997 and has always given her all to the success of our firm both by way of her legal talent, and her ability to always be there for her community. She served on the Boards of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, the BC Cancer Foundation, the Okanagan College Foundation, and many others. Sue also served many years on the management committee of the firm, and was a stellar mentor for many young lawyers, and a wise partner. She will be missed by us here at the “shop”, but we have no doubt that she will continue to be actively involved in our community.
We wish Sue well knowing that she will delight in having more time to focus on her family and their future. It’s been a great 30 years, Sue. From all of us at Pushor Mitchell, we wish you all the best as you embark on new adventures.
