A video is now available of the 2012 Law and the Media Workshop, Get the story, avoid the legal traps.
Designed to help journalists enhance their legal reporting skills, this year’s workshop covered topics such as how to pursue a story without getting sued, and what to do when information takes an unexpected turn.
Each year, the Society and the Jack Webster Foundation invite the media to a free workshop featuring a panel of experts. The annual event contributes to the Benchers’ strategic objective of effective education of the public by helping journalists gain a better understanding of the justice system and legal issues.
This year’s workshop was held in Kamloops at Thompson Rivers University on May 16.
