BrainTrust Canada Association is an Okanagan-based not for profit organization providing community rehabilitation to individuals with brain injury, family caregiver support and brain injury prevention education for nearly thirty years.

We are pleased to announce the keynote presenters for our 2015 conference will be:

Christine Lefaivre — Ms. Lefaivre has spent more than 25 years perfecting and implementing a unique treatment strategy for those with traumatic brain injury. Her clinical practice provides consulting services to third-party funders, such as litigators, insurance companies, and Workers Compensation boards. She is receiving international acclaim for her recently published textbook Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation: the “Lefaivre Rainbow Effect”. Ms. Lefaivre holds a degree in occupational therapy from the University of Alberta and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Shelina Babul — Dr. Shelina Babul has been with the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit for the past 16 years and is involved in various injury prevention strategies and initiatives. She focuses primarily on sport and recreational evidence-based research, with a particular specialization in concussions/traumatic brain injury and their prevention, recognition, treatment and management. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, UBC; an Investigator with the Child & Family Research Institute and the Djavad Mowafaghian Center for Brain Health, University of British Columbia; Chair of the BC Concussion Advisory Network (BC CAN); and co-chair of the BC Sport and Recreation Injury Prevention Advisory Committee.
