Voting 2019!

The time to vote in the federal election is upon us. As I do for every election, I encourage everyone to exercise their democratic rights, get involved however you want and, most importantly, vote! This is not an endorsement of or critique of any party or candidate.

Voting has never been easier and accessibility to information about the federal parties and their local candidates has never been more at hand. Every vote counts as, even beyond the results of which local candidates win, trends in voting can affect policies and considerations of all the parties going forward.

In order to vote, you first need to know your electoral district. You can find your electoral district here. Generally most of us will fall into the following districts (with voting information for each district in the links below):

• Central Okanagan – Similkameen – Nicola;
• Kelowna – Lake Country; or
• North Okanagan – Shuswap.

There are lots of options to vote including:

1. Voting on election day, October 21, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at your polling station.
   • You can find your polling station on your voting information card or via Voter Information Service
2. Voting in advance on October 11-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at your polling station.
   • Locating your polling station is detailed above.
3. Voting at an Elections Canada office before October 15 at 6:00 p.m. using a special ballot process.
   • Follow this link to find out the hours and locations of Elections Canada offices.
4. Voting by mail before October 15 at 6:00 p.m.
   • You will need to apply online or at an Elections Canada office.
   • Information on applying online can be found here and see the previous option for locating an Elections Canada office.

Links to the major parties’ websites and to the websites of their local candidates is set out below with the parties listed in the alphabetical order of the parties. To resolve any dispute, I have only included parties projected to get >5% of the popular vote by 338Canada as of yesterday and excluded the Bloq Québécois as they are not running candidates.

Conservative Party of Canada:
